Apple Cider Vinegar Salad Dressing

This apple cider vinegar salad dressing is my favorite because it's simple to make and adds a delightful tangy flavor to any salad. With just a few basic ingredients, it enhances the taste of fresh greens beautifully.

Ingredients

  • ¼ cup apple cider vinegar
  • ½ cup olive oil
  • 1 tbsp honey (or maple syrup for vegan)
  • 1 tsp Dijon mustard
  • 1 small garlic clove, minced (or ½ tsp garlic powder)
  • ¼ tsp salt
  • ¼ tsp black pepper

Instructions

  • In a small bowl, whisk together the apple cider vinegar, maple syrup (or honey), grated garlic, Dijon mustard, sea salt, and a few grinds of black pepper. This mixture forms the flavorful base of your dressing.
  • While continuously whisking, slowly drizzle in the extra-virgin olive oil. This gradual addition helps emulsify the dressing, creating a smooth and cohesive mixture.
  • Taste the dressing and adjust the seasoning as needed. If you prefer a bit more sweetness, add a touch more maple syrup or honey. For extra tang, incorporate a little more apple cider vinegar.
  • Use the dressing immediately by drizzling it over your favorite salad, or transfer it to a jar with a tight-fitting lid and refrigerate for later use. Remember to shake well before each use, as separation is natural.

Notes

Swap honey with maple syrup for a vegan apple cider vinaigrette. For extra flavor, add ½ tsp dried oregano or a pinch of red pepper flakes.
